Well, here we sit in the only place where I could find free wi-fi...McDonald's...yuch you say?? Well, Kier is quietly chowing down on his favour "big breakfast" and I'm having the healthy "oatmeal" option....okay, I'll admit, I started with one hash brown...just love those things!
As soon as we arrived and got checked in to Harrah's, which was a rather long and slow process, we were off to hit the machines. I had a bit of luck last night...well, I won $100...but hey, better than losing....I'll do that today! But it was "the ladies", ie Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte that were hot for me last night...and no, they aren't "local" girls....they are the "Sex and the City" characters, and I just LOVE their slot machine. I'll be back to visit them again today, I'm sure!
We got no upgrade at Harrah's, which I had hoped for...oh well, the room is quite nice and seems relatively recently renovated. Had an early night last night because of the time change...we went to bed at 4 a.m. Atlantic time, which was only midnight here. The machines were just heating up!! Oh well, they'll be hot again over the next few days. It is EXTREMELY busy here....people everywhere....even here at McDonalds!
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY: I actually learned this yesterday....the value of the 24 hour in advance, on-line check in. There were many, many people flying standby from Chicago to Las Vegas. There was a big brew-ha-ha at the gate over who was getting on the flight and who wasn't. I was some glad we'd done advance check in and held confirmed boarding passes in hand. It was getting ugly....thought they'd have to bring Oprah in to negotiate a settlement!
