It was March 2010...2 months before Kier and I and friends Jim and Sue (or is it Sim and Jue??) were scheduled to fly to Belfast, Northern Ireland, via Heathrow airport...a volcano erupts in Iceland and spews enough ash cloud to interrupt air travel in and around London, England. Do we worry....naw, our trip is 2 months away...nothing to worry about....it'll be cleared up by then.....right?? Wrong! We did manage to get in to Heathrow back in May 2010, but could not get out. But after some creative planning/traveling, we made it back on track with only a high car rental bill to show for it.
Fast forward to today...2.5 months before we leave for Sydney...volcanic ash cloud from a volcano in Chile brings Australian air travel to a standstill...bad omen?? I choose to think NOT...ask me again in 2.5 months....
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY: I'm getting a strong feeling of "deja vu"... AGAIN...and I think I've had this feeling before ;)
