I'm not a somebody...yet...

Today we received our new phone books....we don't have a phone at the moment....or doors and windows, for that matter...but we have a phone book.  Needless to say, without a phone, the odds weren't good that we'd find our name in the book.  So, there was no dancing around the yard here with me waving the phone book like Navin Johnson (Steve Martin's "The Jerk") yelling "I'm somebody now".   Maybe next year...

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY:  Things always sort themselves out with time.  We've been trying to capitalize on all purchases throughout our house building process, by using our credit cards to accumulate travel points.  Ever since the foundation has been poured, we've been trying to sort the bill out between the company that supplies the concrete and the company that pours the concrete...the supplier takes Visa, the pourer does not.  After many, many phone calls, I just decided to sit back and wait.  And sure enough, the pourer arrived here today with 2 invoices all separated for ease of payment...  I guess when they know there are thousands of dollars on the line, you can count on THEM to get it sorted out for YOU.
